Advice for Teachers: How to Conduct and Oversee the Corefulness Exercise Programme

The Corefulness programme is designed to support your pupils’ physical and cognitive development.  By following these steps, you can ensure a smooth and effective implementation in your classroom.

Schedule Regular Sessions

  • Aim to complete the Classroom module twice a day, five days a week, to help children build consistency and progress over time.

Familiarise Yourself and Your Class with Each Exercise

  • Each exercise is introduced with an example before repetitions begin, giving you and your pupils a chance to see what’s next.
  • Watch carefully to ensure you understand the movements so you can guide pupils effectively.

Be Present and Observant

  • Stand at the front of the class and face your pupils during the exercises.  This allows you to monitor their movements and quickly identify who might need help.

Support Pupils Who Need Assistance

  • Pause the Video:  If an exercise needs extra attention, pause the video to focus on specific elements. This helps everyone stay on track.
  • Provide Balance Support:  Encourage pupils to hold onto their chairs for stability if they are struggling with balance.
  • Guide Eye Tracking:  During eye-tracking exercises, gently steady a pupil’s head if it moves too much.
  • Assist with Cross-Body Movements:  If a pupil struggles to cross the midline, gently guide their arm across their body to demonstrate the motion.

Reassure and Motivate

  • If a pupil finds an exercise difficult, offer encouragement:
“Don’t worry if you can’t quite do this YET.  Keep practicing, and you’ll get there soon!”
Celebrate progress, no matter how small, to build confidence and enthusiasm.
